Vlado
: Vlado was born and raised in Czechoslovakia. He studied art under the well-known Slovakian artist Pavol Fürstenzeller. Vlado’s distinctive artistic technique is influenced by early 20th century art and impressionism, along with, Eastern European folk art. He has lived in the United States since 1986 and continues his passion of painting from his home is Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Way I See It
Light:
also called luminous energy, radiant energy. electromagnetic radiation to which the organs of sight react, ranging in wavelength from about 400 to 700 nm and propagated at a speed of 186,282 mi./sec (299,972 km/sec), considered variously as a wave, corpuscular, or quantum phenomenon.
Light is the foundation of art itself and part of our existence. It is one of the major reflections through which our eye can comprehend the presence of a visual art piece. Many times I try to keep it simple and concentrate on the other avenues of my orientation.
Intensity:
the strength or sharpness of a color due esp. to its degree of freedom from admixture with its complementary color.
Besides intensity of color there is a certain harshness brought to an art piece through (my ink) lines, which brings out the intensity of the painting. At the same time it is competing with smoothness that usually doesn’t win in my art work. There are lots of ink lines present.
Color:
the quality of an object or substance with respect to light reflected by the object, usually determined visually by measurement of hue, saturation, and brightness of the reflected light.
Of the three major components color is probably the most important to me. Color reflects partially the intensity of a painting but mostly it carries and sets the tone of the emotional state of the piece. From bringing the feeling of being mellow to in-your-face loud, it can journey you through many moods or sensations.
With these three contributing aspects of my art I try to conceive an intrinsic homeostasis.
What inspires me to want to paint something is usually unique shading and perspectives. I mostly prefer oil paint but also use other mediums such as ink, water color, pencil – whatever achieves the look or mood I’m trying to reach. Painting is a form of, well, it’s an addiction… I can’t stop.
